Mobile hospital (LiiSa)

The mobile hospital (LiiSa) is a mobile diagnostic and care unit specialised in situations requiring urgent care for clients living in 24-hour sheltered housing and in need of home care support. Mobile hospital replaces a visit at the emergency clinic. Our aim is to provide safe and competent care without delay at the client's home. The LiiSa mobile hospital operates 24 hours a day. The mobile hospital does not treat life-threatening situations. In such cases, contact the emergency response centre (112). LiiSa's tasks also do not include basic treatment of chronic diseases or routine laboratory tests.

The client's relationship with the mobile hospital begins with contact by a healthcare professional. The professional may be a nurse or a physician in a nursing home or home care. A nurse working in the mobile hospital unit provides telephone guidance to the personnel treating the patient. A nurse always carries out the home visits.

Among other symptoms, LiiSa treats wounds, abdominal symptoms, rashes, problems related to urination and intravenous hydration. The mobile hospital nurse carries examination instruments and medications. Rapid diagnostic tools allow the nurse to measure CRP values and blood glucose levels, among other things.

If necessary, the nurse will consult the physician in charge of your care or a physician at the emergency clinic. For example, the LiiSa nurse may start an antibiotic drip at the client's home. If necessary, the patient is transferred to hospital care. After a diagnostic and assessment visit of the mobile hospital, the treatment may continue with hospital visits if necessary.

The mobile hospital services are free of charge to residents of 24-hour sheltered housing facilities and home care clients.
