Mobile hospital (LiiSa)

The mobile hospital (LiiSa) is a mobile diagnostic and treatment unit specialised in semi-acute emergency situations involving customers that live in round-the-clock service housing and who need home care support. The goal of the unit is to provide patients with safe and competent treatment without delay in their homes. In semi-acute emergency situations, the mobile hospital replaces the patient's visit to the emergency clinic. The mobile hospital (LiiSa) operates round the clock. The operations or the mobile hospital include a telephone assessment and, if necessary, a home examination and assessment of the patient. The mobile hospital is always contacted by a nurse specialised in home care or round-the-clock service housing or other professional that participates in your care. LiiSa's home visits are always carried out by a nurse. LiiSa's nurse provides the personnel treating the patient with telephone guidance or visits the patient. LiiSa treats wounds, stomach symptoms, rashes, urinary problems as well as gives intravenous hydration, among other things. LiiSa's nurse is accompanied by examination equipment and medication. With the help of rapid diagnostic equipment, the nurse can measure, for example, the resident's CRP (inflammation) values and blood sugar at their house. If necessary, the nurse will consult the patient's physician or a physician at the emergency clinic. LiiSa's nurse can start, for example, an antibiotic drip at the resident's house. Whenever necessary, the resident will be transported to hospital care. After the mobile hospital's diagnostic and assessment visit, treatment may continue, if necessary, in the form of home hospital visits.

Conditions for receiving the Service

The services of the mobile hospital require the health care professional treating the patient to contact the hospital about the client's situation. The professional can be a nurse or physician in round-the-clock service housing or home care. The mobile hospital only handles emergency situations and replaces a visit to the emergency clinic. The mobile hospital does not handle life-threatening situations that require contacting the Emergency Response Centre (112). Normal basic treatment of the patient's underlying illnesses or running laboratory test controls are not part of LiiSa's tasks.

The service is free of charge.
