Detoxification for mental health and substance abuse patients

We treat withdrawal symptoms caused by interrupting the use of intoxicants as well as other problems caused by their use.

Prolonged and heavy use of intoxicants can lead to a situation, where quitting the use causes withdrawal symptoms. Detoxification is necessary when it is not safe to quit the use of intoxicants without therapeutic support and professional monitoring. In detoxification, it is possible to prevent and treat withdrawal symptoms and to take into account the harm to health and other aspects of life caused by the use of intoxicants. During medical detoxification, you will be supported in changing and managing your use of intoxicants. If you so wish, the care personnel can assist you in planning and arranging the necessary follow-up care. The need for detoxification can be established in mental health and substance abuse services or in another health care facility. The detoxification period may also be part of a broader treatment plan for intoxicant addiction, which has already been drawn up with you by social and health care professionals. Detoxification can be provided in both outpatient care services and in institutional settings. Outpatient detoxification is a suitable option when the withdrawal symptoms caused by the use of intoxicants do not require the patient to be continuously monitored and taken care of around the clock. During outpatient detoxification, you will live at home. Outpatient rehabilitation refers to the same thing as outpatient detoxification.

Conditions for receiving the Service

You can be provided with detoxification if a health care professional assesses that you need treatment for the withdrawal symptoms that are caused by quitting intoxicants. Detoxification can only be provided if you are willing to stop using intoxicants. Detoxification is primarily provided as an outpatient service. Detoxification can also take place in an institution, if a health care professional assesses that you need closer monitoring and round-the-clock care.

The service is partly subject to a charge.

You will find the prices of the service on the site for client fees.
