Rehabilitation for mental health and substance abuse patients

We support your well-being and everyday functional capacity by means of mental health and substance abuse work.

Rehabilitation is necessary when the treatment of an illness provided in non-institutional care is not sufficient. Mental health rehabilitation is necessary when the balance of the mind has been disturbed, which has weakened the ability to function. Substance abuse rehabilitation supports recovery from addiction as well as coping with life management problems caused by it.

The rehabilitation is based on a report on the need for care and services compiled in non-institutional care services. Based on the report, social and health care professionals will draw up a rehabilitation plan with you. The jointly agreed measures that support your well-being and promote your life management will be recorded in your rehabilitation plan.

Rehabilitation has a wide range of methods: it may consist of discussions, tasks as well as practising various skills in your everyday environment. Rehabilitation takes place in interaction with a professional or group, or with a combination of these two. Particularly in long-term situations and in those that significantly weaken life management, various communal and group-based services support coping and prevent social exclusion.

Rehabilitation is provided on visits to non-institutional care, at home or in institutional conditions. Institutional rehabilitation is intended as a support measure when non-institutional or home rehabilitation is deemed inadequate or inappropriate. During non-institutional and home rehabilitation, you live at home. Institutional rehabilitation consists of upkeep, care and rehabilitation in a hospital, substance abuse treatment in an institution or other similar health care unit.
