Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County Unifies Client and Patient Information Systems
The Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County is preparing a competitive tendering process for acquiring a new client and patient information system. The aim is to introduce a new client and patient information system that would be used across the Wellbeing Services County. Alongside the tendering process, efforts are underway to unify existing information systems. This move will standardise operations and reduce costs associated with maintaining multiple overlapping systems.
Prior to the acquisition of the new client and patient information system, more narrowly used systems will be discontinued and replaced by systems used widely within the Wellbeing Services County. While services and their locations will remain unchanged, there will be updates to electronic forms and service channels. Initially, this change will affect Kauniainen. These changes do not require any action from residents.
Common Information System for Kauniainen and Espoo
Kauniainen is transitioning to the same client and patient information systems as those used in Espoo. This change will occur in stages. By the end of 2023, it will encompass Disability Services, social services for adults (e.g., social assistance), and residential services within mental health and substance abuse services. It will also affect, for example, child welfare notifications within the service area for children, young people, and families.
For health centre services in Kauniainen, as well as oral health care, outpatient mental health and substance abuse services, child and maternity health clinics, and student health services, the change will occur in spring 2024. This will include changes to the electronic service channel used by clients. The change will also affect the following services during spring 2024: Senior Info, services for the elderly, home care, support services for living at home, and residential services. Detailed information about the spring changes will be provided once the schedule is finalised.
Streamlining Services with Unified Systems – Potential Initial Delays
The unification of client and patient information systems will enhance service efficiency for clients and ease the workload of professionals. In the future, these unified systems could also simplify service access, for instance, in units of neighbouring municipalities.
While services and locations will remain as they are, updates to the systems will alter the layout of electronic forms. During the transition, there might be temporary outages in electronic services, as well as possible service delays as professionals adapt to the new systems.
We apologise for any problems these changes may cause and appreciate our clients’ understanding. If you wish to give us feedback, you can send it through our website.
