Requesting documents or other information from the Wellbeing Services County
This page explains how you can request information and order documents from the Wellbeing Services County of Western Uusimaa. Before submitting a data request, it is a good idea to check whether the information you need is available in MyKanta.
You can see your own health and wellbeing information, such as care‑related notes, most easily in My Kanta. Information from social services will also be added to My Kanta gradually. In the service, you can also act on behalf of another person and view, for example, a child’s or an adult’s information, if you have the right to act on their behalf.

On these pages, you will find instructions on how to request information or documents from the Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County. However, not all information is available from the wellbeing services county.

The following information is held by municipalities:
- Documents related to education and early childhood education, such as school certificates
The Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County cannot respond to these requests.
How to submit a data request
Please read the instructions below first and then select the appropriate data request form.
Instructions for submitting a data request
- We recommend submitting your data request online. The digital form guides you step by step, and processing is faster because the information is transferred directly to the system. The service requires strong authentication.
- In the form, select only the services you have used and only the information you actually need. The wellbeing services county uses several information systems and archives, so providing as precise details as possible, such as the time period and service concerned, helps speed up information retrieval and processing.
- Attach a power of attorney to the data request if required.
- Your identity is verified through strong authentication or when visiting in person. Identification is not required for requests concerning public documents.
- Data requests are processed in accordance with statutory deadlines. If the information cannot be disclosed, you will receive a reasoned decision.

If you want to know which healthcare or social welfare professional has accessed your personal data, or to whom your data has been disclosed, submit a log data request.
Data request concerning a deceased person
If you need information about the social or healthcare services of a deceased person in order to clarify or exercise your own important interest or right, submit a request for a deceased person’s personal data.
Request for public documents
To request access to public documents of the Wellbeing Services County, submit a request for public documents.
Data request on behalf of another person
You may authorise another person to submit a request on your behalf.
For lawyers, licensed legal counsels and public legal aid attorneys, an open power of attorney is sufficient.
As a general rule, a guardian does not need a power of attorney when requesting information about their minor child. Other authorised persons, such as family members or close relatives, must provide a power of attorney that includes the details of both the authoriser and the authorised representative, the scope of the authorisation, the date, and the authoriser’s signature.
The power of attorney must be attached to the request both when submitting it electronically and when handling the matter in person.

If electronic services are not an option, you may submit your data request by mail, through secure email (Turvaposti), or by visiting the Registry Office in person.

Send confidential or sensitive documents only through Turvaposti, never via regular email.

When submitting a request by mail or Turvaposti, include the following information:
- Your full name and personal identity code
- What information you are requesting and the time period concerned
- The municipality where you received the service
Since your identity cannot be verified from mail or secure email, the response will be sent to the address listed for you in the Population Information System.

Fees for documents and information
Requests for personal data and documents are generally free of charge. A fee is charged only when the request is exceptionally extensive, repetitive, or requires significant additional work.
