6. Regular disclosure of personal data

Personal data from the video surveillance registry is not generally disclosed to anyone. Data is disclosed to the police or other competent authorities in cases specifically provided for by law, for example, to investigate crimes. The disclosure is always based on a specific request made by the authorities.

Personal data can processed by the Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County’s support services and by an outsourced service provider, but only by individuals whose job duties include this task. Personal data can be disclosed only with the permission of the heads of the security services (security manager and service managers) of the Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County. The service provider cannot grant permission for the disclosure of personal data.

However, in the case of recording requests made by the police, registry data is stored for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose of video surveillance, up to a maximum of one year. For special reasons, recordings can be stored for a longer period. When the memory of the recorders fills up, the oldest recordings are automatically erased.
