AI development in Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County
In Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County, we make use of artificial intelligence in renewing our services and ways of working. Our goal is to streamline everyday work, reduce manual workload and free up professionals’ time for client work and encounters with people.
Artificial intelligence supports practical work, for example in producing, summarising and translating texts and in information retrieval. We utilise artificial intelligence step by step in different services and develop solutions in close cooperation with professionals.
Part of LUVN’s strategy and pioneering role

The following principles guide our development work:
- Benefit for professionals and clients: Technology supports the work, it does not replace people
- Impact and smoothness: We focus on solutions that genuinely improve the everyday life of both our professionals and our clients
- Controlled and safe deployment: We take into account data protection, information security and regulatory requirements
- Gradual expansion: We pilot, evaluate and scale up solutions that work
Development together with professionals
AI solutions are built in close cooperation with social‑ and healthcare professionals. With this approach we ensure that the solutions meet real needs and genuinely support the professionals’ work.
We carry out quality control and continuously collect experiences, feedback and development ideas. This works as the basis for how we improve the solutions and expand their deployment.
Responsible AI development
We utilise artificial intelligence responsibly and with risks taken into account. When introducing new AI tools, we carry out comprehensive assessments related to data protection and the risks of artificial intelligence.
AI tools require the same level of care as other digital work tools.
We have created guidelines for our employees on the responsible use of AI tools to support their safe use.
