Do you feel that you need more energy for your everyday life and new content in your life?
Come and join the Virtaa arkeen (“Energy for everyday life”) group activities, which are free of charge and open to everyone interested in their own wellbeing. The groups are aimed at persons aged over 65 who feel they need support in making one or more lifestyle changes.
When you participate in the group, you can get
- support and guidance for promoting your own wellbeing and health
- information about the services Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County and other authorities provide to older people
- recommendations and tips concerning nutrition, physical activity, sleep, relaxation, mental wellbeing, etc.
- peer support and experiences from other participants
- encouragement and motivation to make small changes to your lifestyle habits
- new friends and interaction with people of the same age
- tips about hobbies outside the home
The programme consists of ten sessions. Before the first group session and at the end of the programme, the group facilitator will have a personal discussion about your situation with you and provide you with support and guidance for achieving your goals. You choose and decide yourself what kind of small changes you are prepared to make to improve your wellbeing and everyday life. The facilitator and the other group members will support and encourage you towards achieving your goals.
Between the group sessions, there are small homework assignments related to the themes discussed in the sessions, such as practising physical activity or keeping a food diary.
The Virtaa arkeen group activities were launched in autumn 2025. Click on the link below to read what the people who participated in the group at the time thought about it.
Groups begin at regular intervals and some of them are organised remotely. The easiest way to get more information is to contact the activity coordinator of your municipality. You will find their contact information on our webpage.
