Social work for families with children

Social work for families with children is part of the family centre's family social work services. A family centre is a set of services where your family can find services that promote well-being, health, growth, and development as well as early support, care and rehabilitation services and special services for children, young people and families. Social work can provide your family with support when your life situation is stressful, you wish to change your life or are not certain how to get out of the stressful situation. The aim of the work is to alleviate the difficulties caused by the life situation, to encourage your family in change as well as to strengthen your personal everyday resources together with people and parties that are important to you. Your family can receive support from social work for e.g.: - mapping services and the service network as well as for integrating support measures - promoting children's development and well-being - promoting the parent's coping and well-being - upbringing of children as well as for parenting - strengthening your family's resources and for making everyday life smooth. The service is intended for families with children under the age of 18. Working with persons under the age of 18 requires the consent of both guardians.

Conditions for receiving the Service

You can receive help and support from social work services based on a social worker's assessment if your family has children under the age of 18 and support needs are related to the following: - mapping services and the service network as well as to integrating support measures - supporting the development and well-being of children and young people, - supporting the parent's coping and well-being, - supporting the family's resources and day-to-day life.

The service is free of charge.
