Social services for adults - Social Services Guidance

Guidance and appointment booking for adult social services

029 151 3100

Call us on weekdays from 9.00 to 12.00.

Your number will be recorded, and we will return your call.

We offer support and guidance for everyday life situations and questions related to various benefits. We can show you how to apply for services or benefits and advise on which supporting documents you may need for the application. We are open to everyone and does not automatically create a formal client relationship with social services.

During office hours, we will also assist with urgent social emergencies. Such emergencies can be sudden and unexpected crises, situations involving intimate partner violence, or challenges with independent living at home.

If your concern relates to an elderly individual, call Senior Info.

If you cannot call, you may visit us in person

We recommend that you contact social services guidance primarily by phone or through the Lunna chat(external link). This allows us to assess your situation and direct you to the appropriate service as quickly as possible.

For matters related to financial assistance, the primary way to access services is by submitting an application through the electronic service channel. If you are unable to submit an application electronically or need support with the process, you may visit the walk-in service.

You may use the walk-in service, for example, if you:

  • need urgent assistance on the same day
  • are at immediate risk of becoming homeless
  • do not have access to a phone or electronic services
  • need support with applications or online services and do not have the necessary equipment or means of electronic identification.

At the walk-in service, your situation will be assessed and appropriate next steps will be agreed upon.

At the Espoo walk-in service, you can receive help in urgent situations related to adult social work as well as support with practical matters such as completing applications and using online services. The walk-in service is open on weekdays from 9.00 to 15.00. After 14.00, only situations assessed as urgent by social services will be handled. Clients may still use the service point independently until 15.00, for example to use computers, access online services, or submit applications. However, support from a social instructor in completing applications, printing documents, or other service-related assistance cannot be guaranteed between 14.00 and 15.00. Please note that the service point closes at 15.00, and clients are expected to leave the lobby at that time unless further arrangements have been specifically agreed with a social instructor.

At the walk-in services in Lohja and Raasepori, social instructors provide advice and guidance on matters related to adult social work. When necessary, you will be referred to services that are appropriate for your situation.
